This 3-day Yin Yoga training is perfect for those looking to gain the right building blocks to start teaching Yin and/or deepen their current understanding of the practice through introspection and functional anatomical study.

Course Content

This detailed introduction to Yin Yoga is perfect for those looking to gain the right building blocks to start teaching Yin and/or deepen their current understanding of the practice through introspection and functional anatomical study.

Yin Yoga often attracts a more experienced student or teacher who already has a base knowledge of other traditions of yoga or meditation. The practice of Yin Yoga involves targeting different areas of the body through long held postures. While there, you deepen sensation in the target areas/connective tissue – in doing so, you’ll develop skills of introspection and get to know yourself much better.

This training will give you a thorough understanding of skeletal variations within the human population, as well as meridian theory. In doing so, you’ll gain an understanding of yourself through stillness and meditation, which will lead to a transformation within your yoga practice whether you are a student or a teacher.

Teaching Team

Emily Mergaert

Emily has been teaching yoga for over 10 years and has studied from lineages of Ashtanga, Rocket-Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. Her teaching takes inspirations from the above, with a careful understanding of skeletal variation, asymmetry, tension/compression, passive and active ranges of motion and proportion. Emily has taught Yin Yoga for over 9 years and her teachings are inspired by the works of Bernie Clark, Paul Grilley, and Jamie Clarke.

Having the ability to view each body’s uniqueness through this lens, when teaching in this modern world, is key to the Yin Yoga method taught by Emily. She also includes the use of music to enhance the practitioners experience and to dive further into the meditative journey of Yin Yoga.
